This month Joel Ricks & his Daddy gave a demo
on Brown Bag Walls. The three necessary ingredients are:
-DRAW TITE® CLEAR NO RUN primer

-TUFPRO® Builder's/Contractor's Paper (Available at Home Depot)
Tufco Technologies
Manning, SC 29102
-Golden Harvest® GH 34 Heavy Duty Clear Adhesive
(Available at your local Wallpaper Retailer, Lowes, Home Depot, etc.)
Roman Adhesives, Inc
Calumet City, IL 60409
|
| Prime your walls with DRAW TITE® NO RUN and allow
them to dry. Then tear your paper into random pieces about 15"
in diameter. Paste about 15 pieces at a time using undiluted GH-34.
Apply adhesive to the inside of the paper 's curve. |

Veronica Willemin of Veronica's Wallcovering (Newport,
OR 541-574-9843) tries her hand
at Brown Bag Walls. |
| Install the straight edges along the ceiling line,
above base boards, around doors & windows, etc. first. Then fill
in the missing pieces. Don't use pieces with straight edges when filling
in. Allow the paper to dry overnight, then top coat generously with
DRAW TITE® NO RUN. |
|
| This recipe for Brown Bag Walls will give you an
aged leather look. You can substitute red rosin paper to achieve a
rose leather color. You can paint the paper before or after installation
for a more faux painted look. Another variation is to use liner paper
and tint your adhesive any color you wish. |
 |
In addition to using DRAW TITE® in our demo,
Scotch Paint donated samples of their original clear, NO RUN clear,
and white primers to our chapter. For more info visit www.scotchpaint.com |
Special thanks to Shannon Russell
for filling in as Staff Duty Photographer. |
A training video was viewed detailing proper installation
of fabric using the unique WALLMATE®
system.
